On February 11th, 2019, the L’Oréal Foundation and UNESCO For Women in Science programme announced the list of International Rising Talents. The list features 15 most promising researchers, and among them is Dr Urtė Neniškytė, a neuroscientist at Vilnius University’s Life Sciences Centre (VU LSC).

International Advisory Council of Vilnius University Life Sciences Center (VU LSC) has been completely formed. It was joined by a seventh member – professor Chris Lowe from University of Cambridge (UK).

We kindly invite to attend two lectures by a well-known ecologist Velemir Ninkovic from Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. The lectures will take place 2nd of November, 10-12 AM at Room R105.

Article "Molecular diversification of regulatory T cells in nonlymphoid tissues" was published in "Science Immunology" on September 14. Rapolas Žilionis, PhD student at Vilnius University Life Sciences Center (VU LSC) is the co-author of the paper.

Vilnius University Life Sciences Center (VU LSC) fourth-year student of biophysics Justina Žvirblytė was accepted for an internship at NASA's Ames Research Center (USA).

The first competition of life sciences programming, BioHackathon, in Lithuania was held at Vilnius University Life Sciences Center (VU LSC) on the first weekend of August. It was organized by Vilnius-Lithuania iGEM team. The event gathered seven teams from Lithuania and three from Sweden, Finland and the Netherlands. 

The team of researchers from Harvard Medical School (HMS) and Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research reported the discovery of a new airway cell type online in Nature on August 1. Rapolas Žilionis, PhD student at Vilnius University Life Sciences Center (VU LSC) is the co-first author of the paper "A single-cell atlas of the airway epithelium reveals the CFTR-rich pulmonary ionocyte".
