Having taken the Lithuanian Government’s decisions into account, the working group at Vilnius University, responsible for coronavirus prevention, has decided to extend the remote work period at Vilnius University up until 31 May.
While the threat of the COVID-19 infection remains, the University, in line with the decisions made by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, has decided to extend the deadline for conducting work remotely via on-line measures until 11 May (inclusive) with a possibility to extend this deadline as well if needed.

In order to complete this semester properly and as efficiently as possible, the Senate of Vilnius University (VU) has decided to carry out all study activities at VU remotely until the end of the spring semester.
We would like to inform you that while the threat of the COVID-19 infection remains, the University, in line with the decisions made by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, has decided to extend the deadline for conducting studies and work remotely via on-line measures for 2 more weeks until the midnight of 13 April with a possibility to extend this deadline as well if needed.
World Health Organization has declared the infections COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus a pandemic, therefore the University has decided to preventively halt the study process for the upcoming 14 days starting from 13 of March until 27 of March with a possibility to extend the deadline if needed. Students and employees should study remotely via on-line measures - lectures and seminars will not be happening in the University's classes.

Vilnius-Lithuania iGEM team won a Gold medal at prestigious iGEM competition (International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition) and was nominated among the best teams in four categories: best foundational advance, best presentation, best new composite part and best Wiki page.
European Biotech Week (26-27 September) events took place at VU LSC. Every year in different European countries plenty of events, such as conferences, creative workshops, exhibitions, etc., are being organized under this initiative.
