Twelve partners, including Vilnius University Life Sciences Centre, Baltic Institute of Advanced Technology and well-known biotechnology companies, combined into Life Sciences Digital Innovation Hub (LS DIH Lithuania) - a national business and research partnership platform for promoting digital innovation in the life sciences sector.

Vilnius-Lithuania iGEM team won a Gold medal at prestigious iGEM competition (International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition) and was nominated among the best teams in four categories: best foundational advance, best presentation, best new composite part and best Wiki page.

European Biotech Week (26-27 September) events took place at VU LSC. Every year in different European countries plenty of events, such as conferences, creative workshops, exhibitions, etc., are being organized under this initiative.

Training will take place at the Life Science Center of Vilnius University, which is the leading research and study center for life sciences in Lithuania.

Two Lithuanian researchers were awarded prestigious L’ORÉAL Baltic scholarships ‘For Women in Science’.

The delegation of UK universities representatives (prof. Gerard Parr, University of East Anglia), prof. Andrew Abbott (University of Hull), dr. David Cobham (University of Lincoln) on Thursday visited VU LSC.

VU GMC scientist dr. Aurelijus Burokas has been awarded Somerfeld-Ziskind award for his scientific research.

On the 18th of April at VU LSC the meeting of International Advisory Council (IAC) took place. During the meeting IAC memebers together with the management of VU LSC discussed the results of the last year as well as future perspectives.

On February 11th, 2019, the L’Oréal Foundation and UNESCO For Women in Science programme announced the list of International Rising Talents. The list features 15 most promising researchers, and among them is Dr Urtė Neniškytė, a neuroscientist at Vilnius University’s Life Sciences Centre (VU LSC).
