Europe's scientific elite has recognised the work of Professor Artūras Petronis of Vilnius University (VU) and the University of Toronto and has welcomed him as a member of the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO). The new members were announced on 9 July on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of EMBO.

The fourth annual Arqus Conference took place at the University of Minho in Braga, Portugal, under the theme "Connecting Universities, Addressing Challenges". This three-day major Arqus event brought together around 250 participants from different universities.

The Rector of Vilnius University (VU), Prof. Rimvydas Petrauskas, presented recognition gifts and certificates of appreciation to the researchers of the Life Sciences Center (LSC) and other faculties at the "Finis Anni Academici" celebration, recognizing their scientific accomplishments and outstanding achievements. The event also honored Magna cum laude graduates.
