Vilnius University Life Sciences Centre (VU LSC) has awarded graduates of the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes their diplomas at St. Johns' Church in Vilnius.
The diplomas were awarded to the graduates of the bachelor's degree programmes in environmental science and protection, biology, genetics, microbiology, molecular biology, and neurobiophysics, as well as to the first graduates of the molecular biotechnology programme. A total of 186 LSC graduates completed their bachelor studies this year, including 4 Magna cum laude and 12 Cum laude.
On the same day, 92 graduates of Master's degree programmes were awarded their diplomas, 13 of them Magna cum laude and 6 Cum laude. They were awarded to graduates in Environmental Science and Management, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biodiversity, Genetics, Microbiology, Molecular Biotechnology and Neurobiology.
At both ceremonies, warm congratulatory words were said and great success was wished to the graduates by the Vice-Rector of VU Prof. Edita Sužiedelienė, the Director of the VU LSC Dr. Kastis Krikštopaitis, the Deputy Director of the VU LSC Dr. Ingrida Prigodina Lukošienė, a representative of the social partners (ThermoFisher Scientific), the senior R&D director Edita Šmergelienė, as well as the students' representatives, Rusnė Uzielaitė and Konstanty Keda.
The organist Vidas Pinkevičius and the soloist Modestas Jankūnas sent a musical greeting to all gathered at the event.
