Preliminary Topic: Characterization of Bacterial Antiphage Defense System

Short Description of the Internship Work: This project focuses on investigating an antiphage defense system in bacteria that operates through a ubiquitin-like (Ubl) post-translational modification (PTM) pathway. The system consists of a Ubl protein, a ubiquitin-activating (E1) enzyme, a ubiquitin-conjugating (E2) enzyme, and potentially a regulatory protein, suggesting a mechanism similar to eukaryotic ubiquitination. The goal of the study is to characterize the protein components and understand their functional roles in bacterial immunity.

The internship is ideal for a motivated student interested in bacterial immunity and protein biochemistry. It provides hands-on experience in molecular cloning, protein expression, purification, and characterization.

Qualification Requirements (Degree): BSc

Application Deadline: 2025-04-12

Additional Comments: Candidates are asked to send a motivation letter. In the letter, please mention your study program, skills, achievements, activities, any lab experience, and what you expect from the internship. Please include your academic results.
