An international summer school titled “Human Health and Environment by the Baltic Sea” will take place on August 11–15, 2025, on Seili Island (Finland). This summer school offers an excellent opportunity to deepen your knowledge in the fields of human health and environmental issues in the Baltic Sea region, working alongside students and lecturers from six well-known universities across the Nordic and Baltic countries.
The summer school is organized by the BalticSeaBioMed network, which includes the University of Eastern Finland, University of Southern Denmark, University of Turku, Vilnius University, Åbo Akademi University, and Karolinska Institutet. Participants who successfully complete the program will be awarded 5 ECTS credits.
Selection and funding:
– Five students will be selected from each partner university (30 participants in total).
– Accommodation and meals will be provided throughout the program.
– Travel costs to/from Turku will be reimbursed up to €330 (participants are responsible for arranging their own travel).
– Arrival to Seili Island is recommended on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
Who can apply?
Applications are open to Bachelor’s (3rd–4th year) and Master’s (1st year) students.
