Dr. Inga Griskova-Bulanova, a researcher at the Life Sciences Center of Vilnius University, has been elected the new head of the Lithuanian Neuroscience Association (LNA). She succeeded Prof. Osvaldas Rukšėnas, the Association's long-time leader.
"Becoming the head of LNA means taking responsibility to ensure that both Lithuania and the world recognize the work and achievements of our neuroscientists. LNA's vision is a visible and cohesive Lithuanian neuroscience community. I plan to launch a mentorship program where experienced specialists will guide students and early-career researchers, providing advice on research methodologies, career development, and project writing. The goal of this program is to build a collaborative and skilled neuroscience community," said Dr. Griškova-Bulanova.
Dr. Griškova-Bulanova is an experienced neuroscientist with 20 years of research exploring the origins and changes of observable electrical brain states in both daily functioning and diagnostic or clinical contexts. She has published over 50 articles in indexed journals and actively collaborates with researchers from Lithuania, the European Union, and beyond. She also participates in and leads several international research projects.
In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Griškova-Bulanova serves as a board member and treasurer of the International Pharmaco-EEG Society (IPEG, from 2024), a national representative in the ALBA Network (since 2023) and the International Brain Research Organization (since 2017), and a member of the DANA Alliance for Brain Initiatives (since 2015), the European Dana Alliance for the Brain (since 2013), and the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS, since 2008).
