We would like to remind you that the competition for the position of Director of the Institute of Biotechnology (BTI) at the Life Sciences Center is ongoing, and applications can be submitted until October 31 at 3 PM.
Eligible candidates must hold a scientific degree, have managerial experience, and not have reached the statutory retirement age on the first day of the term of office.
After the application deadline, the LSC Election Commission will review the submissions and announce the list of registered candidates. The registered candidates will publicly present themselves to the BTI community on November 7 at 3 PM in room R401. On November 12, BTI staff members who meet the requirements set by Article 12, Section 4 of the Vilnius University Statute will vote by secret ballot to elect the director from among the candidates. A director is considered to be elected if more than half of all eligible BTI employees vote for them. The elected director's candidacy will then be submitted for approval by the LSC Council.
More information about the competition and required documents can be found here.
In addition to the election of the BTI Director, elections for three elected members of the BTI Council are also being held. The BTI Council provides ongoing advice to the director on organizational matters, reviews and makes recommendations on issues related to the institute’s research, studies, and operations, helps coordinate internal activities, and supports the implementation of legal acts passed by the Rector, Senate, Council, and LSC Director. The composition of the Council is confirmed by the LSC Director upon the recommendation of the BTI Director.
