On October 2–4, the EMBO "Project Management" training took place, where 15 researchers from diverse disciplines enhanced their project planning and implementation skills.
This international training, supported by the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO), is the second of its kind this year. In July, the "Laboratory Leadership" training, hosted at the Life Sciences Center, focused on leadership development and received excellent participant feedback. The recent three-day "Project Management" course covered topics such as project development, goal setting, motivation, risk assessment, and conflict management. The training featured a mix of theory and practical exercises through group tasks and discussions. Five trainers from the “Leadership Sculptor” organization, including Mette Hvied Lauesen and Melanie Glickman, led the sessions.
Feedback from several participants about the "Project Management" course:
Edvardas Golovinas (Life Sciences Center): "The content of the courses was good, useful, and practically applicable. The quality was good; the instructors were competent, attentive, and well-versed in their work. The most helpful thing was that I learned more effective monitoring of the progress of projects, assessment of the effects that stimulate and inhibit the progress of the project, and planning the steps of project initiation. The acquired knowledge will be beneficial in my academic career."
Lina Baranauskienė (Life Sciences Center): "I really enjoyed the course, and there were far more practical exercises than I had anticipated. This allowed us to immediately grasp the significance of the topics covered, share experiences with other participants, and realize that we all encounter similar challenges. I am confident that the knowledge gained will help improve my time management, provide clearer risk assessment, enable more precise project tracking, and boost confidence within the project team."
The course at LSC was organized and coordinated by Prof. Vytautė Starkuvienė-Erfle, Dalia Lukšienė, Ugnė Gaigalė, Daina Bujanauskienė, and Prof. Virginijus Šikšnys.
