The I3HIES project, dedicated to boost interregional innovation investment and cooperation among health innovation ecosystems, recently included a visit to the Life Sciences Center (LSC).

This visit underscored the project's commitment to transform the healthcare sector through enhanced international collaboration and focused innovation. The consortium, comprising nine partners from Hungary, Austria, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia, aims to address critical areas within the health sector, including medical devices, emergency equipment, and Medical Device Regulation (MDR) compliance.

The visit to the Life Sciences Center (LSC) of Vilnius University was an important event for the I3HIES partners. Hosted by the director of LSC, Dr. Kastis Krikštopaitis, the partners were introduced to the different research and study areas that the Center focuses on. The director provided an in-depth overview of the Center's activities, highlighting its role in advancing health innovation through cutting-edge research and collaborative projects.

The tour around the LSC building allowed the partners to witness firsthand the state-of-the-art facilities and laboratories where research is conducted. This experience provided valuable insights into the practical applications of the Center's work and its potential alignment with the goals of the I3HIES project.

‘We hope that the visit to LSC helped the I3HIES partners identify potential synergies and collaborative opportunities’, said LSC director. This engagement is crucial for advancing the project's objectives and ensuring that the innovations developed are not only effective but also aligned with real-world needs and regulatory requirements.

The I3HIES project is focused on achieving the desired efficacy in the healthcare sector by boosting and sustaining efficient international collaboration among relevant quadruple helix innovation actors.

The immediate goals include validating 15 project ideas, establishing three European partnerships, and developing the most promising mini-business cases into concrete investment plans, thereby supporting the ongoing transformation of the healthcare sector.
