On April 29, Chern-Chyi Chen, Vice-Minister of Economy of Taiwan, and his delegation visited Vilnius University Life Sciences Center (VU LSC).
Prof. Vytautė Starkuvienė-Erfle, Deputy Director for International Activities, presented the Center, the areas of research being developed here and the current cooperation with the Taiwan scientists. The guests got acquainted with the research performed by Prof. Virginijus Šikšnys and the project of the mission-based science and innovation program, which will be developed at the LSC in the near future. Dr. Giedrius Gasiūnas presented the Caszyme start-up and the application of gene editing technologies in the development of next generation technologies.
Members of the Taiwanese delegation presented the scientific potential of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), research areas and opportunities for closer cooperation between researchers in the field of translational science.
