The VU Life Sciences Center was visited by representatives of the European Space Agency (ESA) Jennifer Ngo-Anh and Michele Iapaolo.
Lithuania's membership of ESA has opened up new funding opportunities. During this visit, the guests were given a tour of the VU LSC and told the scientists about ESA funding opportunities.
Mr Iapaolo is Country Desk Officer (CDO) for Lithuania, and works in the Capability & Country Support Division. His team is responsible for the implementation of specific national programmes in the new ESA Member States.
Ms Ngo-Anh is a team leader in the Directorate of Human and Robotic Exploration. She is responsible for the coordination of ESA's ground-based and space-based (e.g. International Space Station) scientific activities in the fields of human research, biology and physical sciences.
Lithuania joined ESA last year.
